Overweight Confidence Builders

Trying to find eye-popping, attractive and well-fitting clothes can be a real challenge for large, curvy women. The right outfit can really boost your confidence because you know you look good. Added confidence can change the way you see yourself and the way others see you, too especially if you are single and looking to get into bbw dating. Besides, what lady out there, regardless of size, doesn’t want heads to turn (because you look amazing) when you walk into a room?

Here are a few things I found helpful when adding to my wardrobe:

Before even leaving the house, get into the right frame of mind.

Don’t pay attention to those annoying size tags. Sizes are not standard from designer to designer, so don’t focus on being a certain size only to find yourself disappointed when the garment doesn’t fit properly. Instead, focus on finding clothes that fit you.

Spend some time focusing on just you. You deserve to feel your best. Schedule time each day for grooming and stick to it! Pay close attention to your skin, hair, fingernails, toenails, body hair, and makeup.

Accept your body. You may have long-term goals for changing your figure, but that won’t happen overnight. Instead of obsessing over what your body type is not, appreciate what it is. Remember, you only get one body, so take care of it!

Wear clothing with confidence.

Whatever you choose to wear, make sure you’re wearing the clothes and that the clothes aren’t wearing you. If you struggle with confidence in your appearance, try these things:

Avoid buying and wearing “tent” clothing. Clothes that are too big can seem like they’re doing you a favor by hiding your body, but in fact, they’re communicating a lack of confidence. This is true when meeting that new guy you just met from bbw dating. Instead, rely on colors, patterns and accessories that draw the eye away from your flaws.

Practice good posture. The way you carry yourself can make all the difference in how your clothes can work in your favor. Keep your chin held high, your shoulders back, your spine straight, and your hips centered over your feet. When walking, don’t shuffle and barely lift your feet off the ground. Instead, practice a “gliding” walk that beauty queens learn. Teach your body not to bounce up and down very much. You can practice this with the old “balance-a-book-on-your-head” trick.

Fashion as well as bbw dating is designed to make you feel good. What you wear isn’t supposed to make you feel bad about yourself. Your clothes are supposed to provide comfort, protection, modesty, and pleasure. If that isn’t happening for you, then you’re not making good fashionable choices for your body.

Know your measurements.

Using a measuring tape around yourself might seem like your worst nightmare, but knowing your exact size is essential if you’re going to dress well. These are not measurements of who you are as a person. Use a soft measuring tape. Take measurements of your neck, bust, waist, hips, and thighs.

Write your measurements down and keep them handy when you’re out shopping so that you’ll know exactly what sizes to look for. It will be a great, less stressful shopping experience if you know ahead of time where to start looking.

Sometimes your size just isn’t found “off the rack”. You may have, say, an ample bosom but a skinny waist. In that case, most clothing that fits your bosom will swallow your waist. Instead of walking around in clothes that don’t fit or flatter, bring them to a professional to alter to your specific size.

Turn shopping into a positive experience.

Make shopping a fun event by not focusing too hard on your size. Take a friend with you or start out with a “nothing can get you down today” attitude same as you would when meeting that new potential mate when bbw dating. Regard salespeople as someone who are there to help you and who will be just as excited to see you in the right outfits.

Instead of buying a bunch of sloppy, frumpy pieces of clothing that don’t flatter you, invest in a few well-made items that you love and that will last. Don’t just cruise the clearance racks. Your chances of finding a good fit will be slim. Sales are fine if you see something you’d buy anyway for a great price, but don’t make them the only reason for your shopping day.

Buy age-appropriate clothing.

A good rule of thumb is that if someone 20 years younger or 20 years older than you would also be shopping in this department, then re-think what you’re browsing through same as you would bbw dating. Avoid looking too young and seeming like you’re trying too hard with a certain look. However, you also don’t want to buy clothes that age you. If you’re unsure, look around at the other customers. Are they about your same age?

Look at your potential purchases from different angles. Sit down in front of the dressing-room mirror. Many overweight women do not realize that what looks good standing up is disastrous sitting down. Ask yourself these questions: Does this skirt ride up and show a lumpy thigh? Can you wave to someone from across the room without straining at your sleeve? Does any part of this garment, in any position, feel too tight or uncomfortable?

If the answers to these questions are less than desirable, then move on to the next piece of clothing. There’s nothing worse than the fear that any sudden movement might split your seams! Be confident within yourself and dazzling to others. With good fashion that flatters you and makes you feel good, you will be unstoppable in all that you do, even perhaps finding that new love of your life on a bbw dating site.
